I just repaired one of these amps- nothing major, just filter caps and toasted resistor. Sounds very good and I think the compressor on board is very good. I was able to get the schematic from Fender customer service with no issues and I’m not an authorized dealer or service center.
Great amp for direct recording. The only negative is the big knob for attenuation is SUPER delicate. I had one that I bought from GC and it broke in the shipping. I ended up putting it up for consignment at a local store and it got broken there again. It’s an expensive job as the whole potentiameter needs to be replaced. My current one is in my studio and NEVER gets moved.
I sure wish Fender would make schematics and service manuals available for there products-I think the speaker emulationon my Princeton is acting up, I think a cap is going-I dont see why they just cant publish everything its not like a secrret or something about how those things work-
