My Fender Super Reverb was bought in 1966 used, The serial # is A 25072 what year is this amp? can you tell by the serial #. jonathan110@live.com
Yes, the early Silverface amps from 1967 to early 1968 were all Blackface with the silver panels, essentially, later the Silverface (from mid ’68 to 1980) circuits were redesigned.
I recently bought a 1968 Super Reverb, and it has a blackface front panel (I haven’t checked the circuit yet.) Is this an anomaly, or did some 1968 Fender amps actually get blackface circuitry and panels?
