How to use our Mojotone Tolex Glue?<ol>Make sure both surfaces (wood surface & backer side of tolex/tweed) are dry and clean, apply our Mojotone Glue to both the wood surface and the backer side of the tolex/tweed.
Allow 20-30 minutes for our glue to settle and dry, the material will almost become transparent. At that point, you should apply the tolex to the wood surface. Our Glue is very forgiving, you’ll be able to maneuver and reposition our tolex as you apply it to the wood surface. This helps to yield a super clean look… especially for corners and seams. Note - Use forced air for faster drying times. Our glue is a water based material and should not be stored in extremely cold climates (below 32 F) or extremely dry/warm climates (Above 105 F) for long periods of time.
Make sure to reseal your glue after each use. Your amplifier bleeds confidence; you should have the same confidence in the materials keeping your amplifier tolex tight and in place.Don’t settle for less, do yourself a favor and use our Mojotone Glue for your tweed and tolex covering needs. The right stuff
"Monotone Tru Glue is the best adhesive for tolex and tweed. It is the fifth adhesive I used over the last four years and is the only one that works as advertised."

I’m stuck on Mojotone’s TruGlu
"Mojotone’s TruGlu is a great adhesive. Tolex goes on smooth and even. Let it get tacky before applying Tolex to cabinet. There might be other adhesive options out there, but I’ve had great success with TruGlu."

I'm ordering more!
"Love this stuff - it's far more forgiving and effective than conventional contact cement. That being said: 1) The drying time (before assembly) is somewhat longer than the product info indicates. I found that about an hour was needed before the proper grip level was achieved. 2) You really do need to use the product within a year of opening the bottle. I observed the storage advice (tightly sealed - no extreme temperatures) on a bottle I bought about two years ago, and it doesn't work at all anymore. THEY TELL YOU THIS ON THE LABEL - BELIEVE THEM! Still a great product - I'm ordering more!"

Very happy with this glue
"This is so easy tobwork with compared to the contact cement I was using from the hardware store. Way less fumes, water cleanup and convenient squeeze bottle. It is very liquidy and easy to spread."

Good stuff
"14X22X28 inch cabinet (minus speaker grille) took about 2/3 of a bottle. Easy to tell when dry, cabinet dries much quicker than Tolex. Hold very well and easy to work with."

When all else fails, read the instructions.
"When all else fails, read the instructions. I found this product to work as it should if you follow the directions. A few things to note: You really do have to wait until both surfaces have dried to the touch - almost transparent. It will not feel sticky. It's deceiving. I've found that as long as you put a nice even medium coat on and let it set then it will adhere. You are able to pull things up and stretch as needed. Before starting to use this I would absolutely try several test pieces until you get the hang of it and anticipate the time needed. I recovered a small 2x10 cabinet first then moved on to a larger 4x12 and I'm glad I did it in that order. Take some time to mentally prepare yourself, get organized, get everything you might need ready. I used a hair dryer to help speed up the drying process. If there are pockets in the middle of flat surfaces that don't seem to be sticking, just wait. As they dry you can flatten them and they will stick - it's pretty forgiving stuff unlike the DAP contact cement I've used in the past. Also, I had a bottle of this from almost 2 years ago that I never got around to using. It had never been opened and was always stored inside my house so never froze or was subjected to heat. I tried that on the small 2x10 cabinet and it seemed to work just fine. For the 4x12 cab I covered next I used a brand new bottle. Both worked the same but I'd say stick to the manufacturer's suggestion on using the stuff within a year if you can."
