Great speakers

"I bought these in that the V-30's that were spikey and harsh sounding. After researching various companies i reached out to a Mojotone rep and explained what I like the V-30s but they were harsh, that i play alot of rock, metal, and blues. He suggested these and to say I'm not disappointed, they sound great!"

Maybe my favorite speaker among all I’ve tried and I’ve tried a lot.

"Beautiful looking speaker. Overall I describe the sound as big and full. It has a beautiful voiced and present midrange not overwhelming or overtaking with a big but tight or controlled low end that makes it sound big. The top end is sparkly but not harsh or overly bright. The amp I’m using it with has a fenderish clean channel and a kind of hrm overdrive channel. This speaker delivers beautifully both kind of tones and clean or dirty. I have two 212 cabs in my studio and have tried more than 20 speakers. I’m not going to mention brands. I like very much the speakes in those cabs but when I tried this speaker in one of them together with the other three, it quickly became a favorite."

Awesome speaker and incredible company.

"Such a cool (and heavy) version of this speaker flavour, and the company itself was amazing to deal with. Thank you Mojotone and particularly Kenny for a smooth experience and incredible product."

Just try it !!

"I've been a tone hunter for years now. My last favorite speaker was an old British V30. Loved it but sounded like everything else. Blew thru a few more Celestions, some Eminence and Jenson...then one day I spot this BV30H for sale very reasonable. Swooped in and bought it. Put it in my tube combo and said WTF!! This is the crunchiest, sweetest speaker I've ever heard! From clean as ice to hard as hell, it does it all very well. 2 thumbs up!!"

My Current Favorite Speaker

"This is my first time personally experiencing how vastly different an amp can sound by switching out the speaker. I was struggling with my tone (particularly with a higher gain amp I own), but once I played the amp through my new BV-30H everything seemed to fall into place. I am no longer considering selling the amp I was wrestling with and I've already purchased another one to try it in my Fender-style amp. Personally, I can’t tell if I like a piece of gear until I’ve played it at a gig with my band. The BV-30H speaker passed the live gig test. I loved the sound of this speaker immediately—it cuts through the mix and feels great in my hands. 10/10 would recommend!"

Current Favorite Speaker!

"This is my first time personally experiencing how vastly different an amp can sound by switching out the speaker. I was struggling with my tone (particularly with a higher gain amp I own), but once I played the amp through my new BV30H everything seemed to fall in place. I am no longer considering selling the amp I was wrestling with and I’m not going to buy another to try it in my fender style amp. It’s one thing to play at bedroom volume, but for me, I can’t tell if I like a peace of gear until I’ve played it at a gig with my band. I loved the sound of this speaker immediately—it cuts through the mix and feels great in my hands. 10/10 would recommend!"

sounded good from the start

"I have been trying a lot of different speakers the last couple of years with a variety of Marshall style amps. Celestion Heritage Greenbacks,G12H 70th Ann.,Alnico Blue, Tone Tubby Alnico, Avatar Hellatone, Scumback M75, H75, H75 LHDC to name a few. The Mojotone BV30H was the cheapest and the one that really surprised me. It's smooth like a Scumback and it has a very even response across the frequency range. It's got more headroom than a 20 or 25 watt greenback RI and it's clean tones are clear at lower volume. It drives more smoothly than the Hellatone when pushed. Most impressive is that it doesn't seem to color or change the character of the amp. it also doesn't need a ton of time to break in. It sounded good from the start."

Perfect for a Plexi

"I am using a closed back 1x12 cabinet with a 50 watt Marshall plexi clone. I am keeping both the wattage and volume down (80-85db) with post phase inverter master volume and JohnH attenuator set at -7db. I think that would be around 8-10 watts of power at the speaker, so well within the safety zone of a single 12 inch low wattage speaker. Cranking the volume up into the upper 90db range, this speaker absolutely rips. Speakers I have tried include a Celestion V30, Celestion V-type, Celestion G12-65 Heritage, Mojotone BV-30M, and this Mojotone BV-30H. While all of these speakers sound quite good, this might be my favorite speaker in this set-up. The Mojotone BV-30H has a wonderful smooth searing top end, and lots of plexi growl. It is a slightly darker sounding speaker than the others , which is perfect for this amplifier. Truly a great speake"

hard for me to not give a 5 out of 5

"Picked up an older one of these at a local MusicGoRound and it's made a major improvement to my recently acquired Blues Jr. I actually have an older Mojotone 1x12 cab with a British G12H Anniversary in it and that's what I'd been playing the Blues Jr through prior to the speaker swap. Right after installing the BV-30H, the amp sounded exactly the same (I didn't re-EQ anything) as the Celestion (which is broken in by now). However, tweaking the EQ some revealed a very smooth top-end when driven--something that's VERY hard for me to get to with the Celestion. That's since come to define how I feel about this speaker: "Smooth", versus the pure "Raw" sound of the Celestion (both good and bad). A friend even noticed the improvement in the amp the next rehearsal; noting that it was sounding much smoother and less harsh than the stock Eminence the Blues Jr came with. Even now I feel like the amp could be used as a "dual" channel amp with a Fat switch since I won't feel like I'm cranking up a can of woolen bees like I did with the original speaker. I love the G12H Anniversary, but given how this is cheaper and much more easy to get useful tones out of with just the amp (or pedals), it's hard for me to not give a 5 out of 5 or recommend for friends when they want to swap a speaker!"
