Telecaster into an Esquire
"I was turning my 50’s Classic Vibe Telecaster into an Esquire, complete with the “cocked-wah” wiring. I was looking for a capable bridge pickup to do the job, since it's the only pickup on the guitar. Because the Esquire pre-dated the Telecaster, I wanted to use an early iteration of the Tele bridge pickup. After doing some research I decided to go with Mojotone’s Broadcaster Clone Tele Bridge Pickup and I’m so glad I did. It has a lot of snarl and bite in position 1, bypassing the tone control completely. Bleeding the tone, in position 3, has such a unique flavor all to its own. It’s the opposite tonal end of the sonic spectrum. Position 2 brings back the tone control and you can really hear the range of this pickup. In short, it sounds great. Single pickup guitars really make you work with what you have because of it’s inherent limitations. To be fully transparent, when the pickup first arrived, it wasn’t working properly. I emailed the people over at Mojotone and they were able to diagnose the problem quickly. I shipped it back and once it was repaired they returned it promptly. They were very helpful throughout that process and I would buy more of their products in the future."
