The Blackface Princeton Reverb® Style Guitar Tube Amp Kit delivers one of the most iconic Fender-era tones in a compact, studio- and gig-ready format. First introduced in 1964, the Princeton Reverb quickly became a staple in guitar history, prized for its shimmering clean tones, lush long-spring reverb, and tube-driven tremolo.
Inspired by the legendary AA1164 circuit, this amp builds on the foundation of the Tweed Princeton while adding the signature Blackface enhancements players love. The result is a versatile, articulate amplifier that excels in recording environments, small venues, and home studios alike. Over the decades, the Princeton Reverb sound has found its way into the rigs of countless professional guitarists, becoming a benchmark for classic American tube tone.
The Mojotone Princeton Reverb style amp kit produces 12–15 watts of rich, harmonically complex power and pairs beautifully with our Anthem Series 10" 35-watt speaker. Like original Blackface Princetons, this design includes an added gain stage after the reverb circuit, allowing the amp to push into thicker saturation when driven. Combined with the smooth compression of 6V6 power tubes, the result is a creamy, soulful tone with exceptional touch sensitivity and character.
This amp features one channel with two inputs.
-Input 1 delivers a slightly hotter signal, ideal for single-coil pickups.
-Input 2 is more mellow, making it perfect for humbuckers.
This thoughtful design lets you switch guitars without constantly adjusting volume levels.
The straightforward control layout—Volume, Treble, Bass, Reverb, Speed, and Intensity—provides everything you need to dial in classic Blackface tones without unnecessary complexity. From sparkling cleans to warm breakup, this amp handles pedals exceptionally well and adapts to nearly any musical setting.
