One of the most extreme environments for vacuum tube operation can be found in the back of any combo-style guitar amplifier.  Whose idea was it to place the tubes right next to a screaming 12 speaker!? Tube rattle is inevitable, and sometimes, it starts on day one after installing a new set of tubes.  One way to help subdue tube rattle is to add a silicone ring, rated for high-temperature applications, around the outside of the tube glass. The thick silicone ring will dampen the rattle.
