Hi. Can anyone tell what kind of speaker there is in Fender Super 60? I have one of these and wonder… The online information I can fins on the speaker is; “Fender musikal instrument spesial design speaker”, no. 1256-1 on the membrane. I like to compare with Jensen, Celestion, ett. Sine regards Egil Stenset, Norway
I have one. I bought it new. I was at Guitar Center in San Jose CA, it had just hit the floor, and I plugged into it. WOW. Tone, crunch, and a lot of tonal variations. Replaced the tubes once, but otherwise it has been solid. Finding this prompted me to bring it out of the closet and play it again. Wow. I still love it (but it does need some TLC. The pots are a bit noisy, and the input 1 jack is a bit flakey. Fabulous amp, very versatile, and LOUD for what it is.
I agree, Rivera did not design this amp , Mark Wentling did. I bought a used one in mint condition, changed the tubes, and speaker and it is a surprising amp, very clean ; the new tubes give it a warmth and it has very nice tone. I also have a Rivera and two Mesa Boogies and does not have the volume and head room that the other three amps have unless I crank up the Mid. Still is is a nice little amp.
