I have a blackface Deluxe Reverb dated early 1967. Beautiful sounding amp, the classic Fender tone. I just put in a Jensen P12N Alnico Vintage speaker and it sounds even crisper. (I’d heard someone greatly improve a stock, modern Fender amp with a Gold Celestion).
I have one 9/1966 and it had a blue label speaker in (12K5-6) when I bought it in 1988. This year I had to recone the speaker and it sounds like heaven! Creamy and chilly, the sound is macig, maybe also due to old RCA-tubes… This amp is in Finland, the Volt-electronics have been modified in the import process in Sweden as they came via Sweden to Finland then. So if you ever visit here, welcome to test it. Juuso
